I was simply browsing MSCD Middle School sites when I noticed teacher blogs at East Columbus Magnet. Just want to say "thank you" for this very insightful posting. I plan to use it at my school next year. I will probably have my staff do a book study on the novel as well! Great job!
The use of technology in this classroom is for educational purposes only. It is a privilege and not necessarily a right. Any student who inappropriately uses the equipment, i. e. illegal downloads, accessing unauthorized sites, changing computer settings, vandalism of equipment, or in any other way deemed inappropriate by the teacher, will result in disciplinary action or the forfeiture of his or her student login. Completion of electronic assignments will be restricted in the classroombut required as homework.

Students' grades are weighted in the following manner:
25% Classwork/homework
25% Writer's Workshop (Daily writing particpation, short & long-term projects, i. e., working/electronic portfolios, blogs, wikis, digital stories, research papers, etc.
